"I read on your blog that you intend (or intended, as I don't know if you already made that travel) to go to Croatia. It is our neighbour country and I think it is excellent choice. Croatian coast is very beautiful. I also read that you intend to visit Ljubljana. It's my hometown and if you come before 1st August, then I can show you around (if you want, of course)."

I won't start my journey till 12 Sept and Ljubljana, if I go there, will be my last stop before returning to London. So I won't be able to meet with you but thanks for the invitation.

Was wondering what to do in Ljubljana, as it looks pretty similar to cities in Croatia. If you have good info on the place (including if flying Adria to London is a good idea or not ), please share with me.

"Well, I won't be in Ljubljana in September because I'm going to China on 1st August. BTW, you are from HK. Do you know if there is a direct train/bus line from HK airport to Shenzhen? Didn't buy Lonely Planet yet.....

Ljubljana has some sites worth seeing (castle and center of town, part of which was created by our famous architect Joze Plecnik - yes, it is town because it has only 300.000 inhabitants). But true gems are outside of Ljubljana. For example, Bled lake is famous because it has island in the middle with church on it (it's the only island Slovenia has!). At seaside there is old town Piran which looks like some Croatian towns (for example, Rovinj or Porec in Istria), so for you maybe it won't be of such interest. There are also caves in Postojna. You see, Slovenia doesn't have so many achitectual gems, but is gem itself. Our nature is very beautiful and 60% of our country is covered with forest. We have beautiful mountains and our seaside is nice too (although we have only 37 km of it). There are also other sites in Slovenia which you can see on a link that you posted in your blog (http://europe.go2c.info/si/index.htm). But if you just want go to Ljubljana, then it will take you
only one day to see all the sights in the center of Ljubljana that are mentioned on a site from your blog. BTW, the simbol of Ljubljana is dragon! And it is also in town's coat-of-arms. And in the center of town is small Dragon bridge with four dragons.

I don't know how are prices at Adria Airways, but I think that it's worth trying EasyJet, which is low-price air company and cheaper than Adria. Some of my friends went with EasyJet to London just for a weekend because air-ticket is so cheap. But in last months I heard that Adria has lowered their prices so you have to compare (http://www.easyjet.com/en/book/index.asp) (http://www.adria.si/en/index.cp2). There is also low-price air company Ryanair (http://www.ryanair.com/site/EN/), but it flies from Maribor which is 150 km away from Ljubljana.

I hope that helps a little bit!:)"

I guess I could spend about a day in Ljubljana and then have a day trip to Lake Bled.

I've found a really cheap Adria ticket from Ljubljana to London. It is so cheap (cheaper than easyjet) that it makes me doubt the quality of the airline.
